OUR STORY
It all started with chickens...
In 2016, we bought a house on 14 wooded acres in central Virginia. After living in the burbs of Arizona & SoCal, rural-living was a BIG change for our family of 6. An order of straight-run chicks gave us 12 roos and 10 pullets, quickly throwing us into building runs and clearing land for fencing. Nigerian dwarf goats followed shortly, then Cotton Patch geese, Kunekune pigs, Muscovy ducks, miniature horses, and a Pyrenean Mastiff. Somewhere in there, after years of allergy shots, we got Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers who adjusted amazingly well to family and farm life.
Our Farm Today
While we still have the property in Virginia, work relocated us to Texas in 2020. After a year in a subdivision (that was a hard transition for us) we toured the western U.S. in our RV for 4 months before settling in a farm house north of Dallas. We jumped right back into country living, getting Kunekune pigs, shipping the minis out from VA, and adding poultry. We are constantly growing, striving to be more self-sufficient with sustainable food production.
